The Initiative

Using his professional background in creative consulting and innovation, Leonard Sommer started the research project CLASSROOM THINKTANK to encourage and enable dialogue and resources to be shared between creative industries and education.

Assuming the whole education system will need to make a radical transition in many countries around the world, he therefore asked more than 100 creatives and education futurists in 35 countries, to inspire parents, teachers, principals, and ministries of education to rethink 21st-century education. The book brings together interesting and relevant thoughts, concepts and inspirations on a new organizational design, learning culture and role of the teacher and parents as well as new teaching methods and an alternative assessment model.

The Creative Cover Project

A book about 21st-century education needs a special cover. That's why Bruno Bertani, the designer of Leonard´s book decided to announce the "creative cover project". The clou? Every reader has the opportunity to submit his own cover! In the end, all cover designs will become part of this book via augmented reality.

The concept of the book was presented at the 8th Symposium of Creative Education to celebrate the United Nation's World Creativity and Innovation Day. The 10-minute presentation shows a first insight into the content and the design of the book.
